Welcome
This site is about the Yamaha TDM 850 - 1991 and my journey on the road of complete rebuilding. The bike has 26 thousand miles down the road, which is not so bad for a +20 year old bike. Sadly to say, there has been a lack of maintenance, or shall we say less than the bare minimum. I´m expecting the worst. On the bright side I´m not in a hurry, I have found me some service manuals, part lists, workshop manual and last but not least, some good music. It´s my intention to document the progress, so that; 1) I will have better chance of putting the bike back together and; 2) give other "beginners" a glimpse inside what this all is about.
This will be a long journey since this is not the only thing I’m doing with my life :) but for me that is alright. I´m taking the zen* point of view on this, hoping to learn something on the way, both about my bike and myself. I have no experience in motorcycle repairing. The only way to get the bike back on the road is by documenting everything. This is my documentation of the process, free for you. But I take NO responsibility for the information here. Enter at your own risk :)
Anyways, feel free to send me a line, especially if you have any tips or tricks.
